Hard at work, the USkaarj team breaks out the whips to get a staple RTS feature implemented:

A few days ago, we tasked our coder, Krash, to implement the fog of war for the USkaarj2k3 mod. He finally completed the work and we let him out of the cellar. Although the feature is still young, it looks great!

Like any RTS game, the fog of war hides areas and units that you don't control. This prevents you or your opponent from openly viewing unit movement and building progress. It also adds the element of surprise that was missing in the first version of USkaarj.
