Well I had to break the Unreal theme today because I need a little help. There is a new Tribes 3 Video out that shows off the Ragdoll Effects in the game. However I can't get this to play and it is annoying the crap out of me. If you can download this and tell me what Codec I need I would greatly appreciate it. |

QuickTime 6.3, with the Internet Extras addon, worked just fine for me.
even was able to download and install the addon while the movie started, then it played just fine afterwords.... |

The video is lame. It seems like there is a predefined 360 vertical flip that starts immediately when he kills himslef (done REPEATEDLY...the same stupid effect OVER and OVER and OVER). That video should have been 30 seconds. The rest was a waste of my time, and overall gave me a bad impression of whatever game that it will end up becoming.
Compared to UT2k3....it looked like some lame mod...whose team has fallin in love with ONE suicide effect..and who probably thinks its the funniest thing ever...as they dream about how to make a screensaver out of it..
man, its late...what the hell am i doing up.

Yea I finally got it. The first download came through as a mpg but the second time I tried it was from different server and came through as a .mov. I gotta admit I wasn't impressed by the ragdoll. Some of the maps did look cool though. |

there were some good parts to the ragdoll..
some of them (after they hit the ground) were really good... legs bouncing all over and twitching..
dunno if the flipping has to do with using the same weapon to die every time or what |
