HI all

I am considering the adaption of a vehicle mesh (3DSmax) and I need some info on the requirements of the Unreal 2003 engine.

At the mo- It is about 5-6 thousand polys (huge, I know) but how much do
I need to crush it? PLS could somebody let me know what a siutable polycount would be?

Anything else I should know about modelling/animation for Unreal (file formats, unsupported features, quirks etc)

Cheers

2 resources worth checking out:

http://udn.epicgames.com/pub/Content/UnrealModelTutorial/

and more importantly the "Max to UT2003 Import" page at:

http://www.neomagination.com/unreal/tutorials/max2ut_01.html

that should answer most, if not all of your questions Wink

Thanks people - I knew about the epic site, but not www.neomagination.com

The poly-count was a pleasant surprise (not had time to mod since HL.... mmmnmnmm -nostalgia) Looks like UT is the engine for me.

Got it down to 4k anyhow - still looking good.

Thanls again

no need to lower the polys... rather make it more then 6000 (maybe 6500)
