The other day I stumbled across a great article on GUIs.  For those of you that don't know, a GUI is a Graphical User Interface or in layman's terms, your desktop, start menu or anything visual that represents things.  The article talks about how the writer hopes to see changes in the upcoming Microsoft OS Longhorn. |

iv seen some prog i think, on the internet, that made the desktop a 3D enviroment (room)
 
you could go trough it and click/activate stuff etc, all in a room, was like VR.. |

yes but that hogs up valuable sys resources and lags like crazy on lower end sys's
 
 
even if the interface was just cleaned up and streamlined it would still seem overpowering to some people. |
